C208 - Freedom From Addictions (3)
Monday 6:00-8:00pm; Vada DeWerd, MSSW, LCSW, CSAC
This course explores the overcoming power of Jesus Christ, who is not only willing but also able to set people free from every form of addiction. A variety of addictive behaviors will be explored, as well as the truth of God’s Word, which serves as a foundation of this freedom. Each student will not only apply this truth to their own lives, but will be equipped to reach those within their reach who are struggling with addictive patterns and behaviors. Different approaches to dealing with addiction will be explored.
P302 - Biblical Preaching Practicum (3)
Monday, 6:00-8:00pm; Dave Ferguson, Senior Pastor, Beloit Foursquare
This course equips those who are called to preach and teach the gospel in a creative, relevant way. Students will learn to select a theme, interpret a Biblical text and organize a message. During the final five weeks students will have an opportunity to devolop and deliver a message to their peers and receive encouraging, practical advice.
B109 - Pentateuch (3)
Monday, 8:15-10:15pm; Lowell Ferris, M Div. , MA Hebrew Studies, UW
This course surveys the first five books of the Bible in a manner similar to that of Old Testament survey but in a greater depth. Creation, the patriarchs, the experiences of Israel in the wilderness, and the Law all receive detailed examination. In addition to Biblical content, the course explores how themes found in the Pentateuch reappear and are expanded in the New Testament.
M208 - Prevailing Prayer (3)
Tuesday, 6-8pm, Karen Bruce, BS, Rhema Bible College
This course emphasizes cooperating with the Spirit in order to prevail in prayer and power. Students will learn to receive "downloads" from heaven. Also, there will be instruction on the purpose of different types of prayers and how to appropriate them to acheive the desired results.
P103 - Spiritual Leadership I (3)

Spiritual Leadership I explores the calling and development of a leader’s character and skill-set by studying several Biblical leadership examples with an emphasis on Jesus, the model of a servant-leader. This process begins with a God-revealed mission that has captured a person’s heart. Spiritual Leadership I will highlight the essential components of Christ-like character development as well as the basic principles of effective leadership which will ensure healthy team environments that achieve results more impacting than any individual could do alone. Such topics as humility, discipleship, risk-taking, team building, vision, and mission will be explored as well as others. This course attempts to develop a person’s leadership skill-set from a Biblical perspective, which values the essential components of Christ-like character.
B102 - New Testament Survey (3)

This course is an exploration of the New Testament. New Testament Survey will trace the central theme of redemptive history and survey the New Testament from a Biblical theological perspective. New Testament Survey will introduce the student to the geography and structure of the New Testament. The study of the historical context will give a fuller understanding of the relationship of people and events as the story of Christ unfolds in Scripture.
E205 - Effective Teaching in Christian Education (3)
Wednesday, 6-8pm, Lowell Ferris, M Div, MA Hebrew Studies, UW; Laura Marquardt, BS, M Ed, UW
This course is a study of the principles underlying the teaching / learning process presented in light of the current research in cognitive learning theory and student motivation. A variety of teaching techniques and problem solving strategies appropriate to each stage of child development will be examined. Effective models in the development of lesson plans for children’s curricula will be used.
M109 - Foundations in Christian Ministry (3)
Wednesday; 8:15-10:15pm, Larry DeWerd, PhD
Christian ministry depends on a firm foundation and understanding in the minister’s life. Christianity is based on truth, which is emphasized in ministry, for prayer and Biblical counsel. Also discussed will be how to pray for the sick, lead someone to Christ, or lead others to be baptized with the Holy Spirit. An overview of other belief systems and their contrast to the truth of Christianity will be given. This course will lay the foundation of ministering to others in the local church and is highly recommended for Small Group leaders, prayer ministry team, and others who would like to grow in their understanding of how to minister to others.
P208 - Systematic Theology IV (3)

This course explores understanding of healing and eschatology (what happens during the last days). Systematic Theology IV will study divine healing, God’s provision and promises concerning physical healing. Throughout the course you will also learn about the Biblical teaching regarding the end times: second coming of Christ, the resurrections and judgments, the millennial reign of Christ, and the final state of both the saved and unsaved. The content includes Divine Healing and Eschatology
P108 Systematic Theology II (3)
Thursdays 6:45-8:45pm, Warren Allfrey, DVM
Would you like to have and in-depth understanding of the foundations of Christian faith? The content of Systematic Theology II includes Pneumatology and Angelology. Pneumatology covers the scriptural revelation of the person and work of the Holy Spirit. Relevant subjects discussed include His deity, divine names, symbols, as well as His work in the physical universe, in relation to Christ and in the hearts of believers. The Pentecostal perspective is upheld. The baptism, gifts and graces of the Spirit are emphasized as aspects of His continuing ministry in the Church today. Angelology is an examination of the scriptural teaching concerning the origin, nature, sphere, work and destiny of angels.
